right next to curry 36 is a small döner kebab stand called mustafas. what they creates are little slices of edible heaven. i’d never had a durum or a döner until i first visited berlin and since i’ve tried it, i’m very reluctant to eat them at any location other than mustafas. its parts are simple—grilled lamb (or chicken), parsley, lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, grilled vegetables, grilled potatoes, feta cheese, yogurt / chili / garlic sauce, and splash of lemon juice on top wrapped in a tortilla (a durum) or toasted bread (a döner). but what the combined elements create is a party in your mouth and belleh. the bread is crisp, the ingredients are incredibly fresh, and mustafas adds in a little extra love that’s different than any other kebab spot. if there’s one thing you eat at berlin, it has to be something at this stand. everything here is delicious and cheap but beware of the long lines!
